In the pandemic I developed a repetitive stress injury in the tendons of my thumbs in both hands that required surgery. During this time I was unable to make art or do many basic tasks. It began with painting with my feet trying to exercise some creativity. I found the freedom in painting intuitively! The process of creating these finger paintings is meditative and going off of feeling rather than a representational image. I found that this eased my anxiousness and allowed me to let go and create to relax. I find myself equally lost in these works after I finish looking at how the various colors and textures interact to make three dimensional relaxing and dynamic artworks. I love experimenting with the endless colors of the ocean.
